Ten Principles to Achieve Best Value for Money

The following course was prepared and is presented by Dr Roy Barton, immediate past President of the Institute of Value Management Australia (IVMA) – see course contents below.

Roy has retired from professional practice and bequeathed the course to the IVMA. It meets the requirements for membership of the IVMA, and is one of two requirements for recognition as an accredited value management facilitator (the other requirement being facilitation skills).

Achieving best value for money is something nearly everyone strives for, and is often a specific requirement in procurement and contracting.

The course is presented as a series of short video lessons - each running for around eight minutes. The videos can be replayed as many times as you want.  There are 42 lessons in the course including the first three free-to-view videos which give a feel for the form and content of what follows.

There’s also a five-question multiple-choice quiz attached to each of the ten principles. Successful completion of the course and quizzes meets the requirement for membership of the IVMA, with a MIVMA postnominal.

Testimonials

I couldn't recommend Roy Barton’s course more highly. It is fantastic to see decades of work consolidated into an easy-to-use and accessible platform.

In my early 20's Roy took time out of every week to go walking with me. He was an incredible mentor and the lessons and guidance he provided remain invaluable to both my personal and professional life until this day, and I know will continue to serve me well in the years to come.

Roy is a gifted teacher and his insights are applicable to sole-traders right through to established mutli-billion dollar corporations.

Excellent Value for Money!
I undertook this on-line short course recently and recommend it to all.
Dr Barton has decades of experience in the Value Methodology (in Australia and other countries), is President of the Institute of Value Management Australia and also knows how to teach!

The 10 principles, together with case studies and practical tips are outlined via many small video modules that make the material easy to digest, flexible to fit into busy lives, and a pleasure to return to.

You can watch the first three videos for free.....they’re each only a few minutes long - why wouldn’t you watch them now?

Dr. Barton took me under his wings and proved to be an exceptional mentor, coach and teacher. A critical thinker who has the ability to conceptualise complex issues and arrive at decisions which result in solutions, I have to say I would not have achieved the results and arrived at the conclusion of my study, in the absence of his professional inputs.
